It’s June 2026. I have some further updates!
Although I've been formally rejected by the syndicates to which I submitted the strips, the general response from the public has been very positive! I'm so happy to hear such nice things from so many strangers. These strips take a lot of time and effort, even when they are powered by throwaway goofy puns and silly cartoon animal facial expressions. It's very easy for me to spend time beating myself up about the failures and shortcomings I see in the artwork and writing, but honestly I've been floored by the positive response to Wilderninnies. I'm creating more of them, all the time, which is excellent since I'm nearing the end of my backlog of already drawn comics. I'm sure I'll be desperate for ideas in a month or two. :)
Here’s the most recent Wilderninnies comics on my site. You can also find all of them on social media, new ones posted every Tuesday and Thursday.

Above are a couple of examples of my readjustments for a single-panel comic. For several years, I've been obsessed with getting a comic published in The New Yorker. The style of the magazine is in some ways very specific, and in others quite wide. The main guidelines for these seem to be-
1- Only black and white unless there's a compelling reason to use color.
2- A clear speaker for the caption- generally in quotation marks.
and 3- A passive snark and general tone of modernized cultural ennui or disaffection, combined with true or relatable emotional stakes.
